The State Company for Drugs Industry and Medical Appliances (SDI) was founded in 1965 in accordance with the contract concluded with the former Soviet Union for technical and economic cooperation, where the work continued to establishment from 1965 until 1969. The factory was started in 1970. In the field of drugs industries with excellence from international companies such as : Italian Lepetite, MSD, SKF, GLAXO and ROCHE.
The center of the company is located in the city of Samarra, 120 km north of Baghdad, The area of buildings about 70,000 square meters and the plant area is about 520,000 square meters . The company is itself the best and largest local source for the provision of human drugs and international standards.
